CHILD CARE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The cost of childcare can be daunting for any family, no matter their respective income. At the Meadville Family YMCA, we believe no child should be denied access to quality care because of an inability to pay. Please review the various financial assistance options below.
At the Y, everyone belongs and everyone has the opportunity to participate regardless of the ability to pay. Our donors and staff work and generously give to ensure that EVERYONE gets to have a Y experience. Please don’t hesitate to inquire about our financial assistance opportunities.
The subsidized child care program helps low-income families pay their child care fees. The state and federal governments fund this program, which is managed by the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) office located in your county. The ELRC will pay a part of your child care cost.

The Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program makes pre-kindergarten scholarships available to children and families throughout the Meadville Family YMCA service area. Contributions give local kids a chance at a better education, while providing a tax benefit for participating businesses.
PNC Grow Up Great is a $500 million, multi-year, bilingual initiative that began in 2004 to help prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life. As part of this initiative, the PNC Foundation has earmarked funds for grants to nonprofit organizations that work to improve school readiness by providing support in areas such as: vocabulary development; social-emotional learning; math; science; and the arts. By focusing our support on high-quality early childhood education, the program’s aim is to positively impact school readiness and contribute to stronger, smarter and healthier children, families and communities.
The Meadville Family YMCA has discretionary funds available for parents and families that meet certain household income guidelines. These funds are raised through the Ys Annual Campaign and donations are made by Y staff, facility members, other individuals and corporate organizations throughout Crawford County.
